can be almost nightmarish, so attend this session to learn
effective ways of dealing with difficult students.
Cheating on Exams: How to Prevent it, Detect it, and
Handle it
In this session, you’ll get the latest statistics on
cheating, learn the most common ways to cheat on exams, and
learn how to prepare, deliver, and grade exams to minimize
the incidence of cheating. You’ll also learn what to
do if you’ve caught someone cheating and participate
in simulations where you hone your proctoring skills.
Plagiarism: How to Prevent it, Detect it, and Handle
it
In this workshop, you’ll learn the most common ways
that students plagiarize (including new Internet-based techniques)
and learn how to prevent, detect, and combat plagiarism. You’ll
receive training materials that define and model plagiarism
for your students and be alerted to leading sites on the Internet
that promote or combat plagiarism. You’ll also participate
in simulations that train you to detect plagiarized papers.
Designing Effective Syllabi
In this session dedicated to improving your syllabi, we’ll
critique model syllabi and discuss current issues surrounding
syllabus content, including the roles played by the syllabus
in handling academic integrity issues. Attendees will receive
copies of the latest journal articles on improving syllabi
as well as an extensive syllabus checklist.
